Budget level

What a stay in Barcelona costs

In Barcelona, accommodation is the biggest cost. According to KAYAK, December and January are the cheapest months and September the most expensive. The room prices in the calculator are our own estimate; during the Mobile World Congress they usually rise sharply.

The metro is the easiest way around: a single ticket costs €2.90 and a 10-ride T-casual €13. From El Prat airport, the L9 Sud metro costs €5.90 and the Aerobús to Plaça de Catalunya €7.75. Taxis have no flat fare; the minimum charge from the airport is €21.

The biggest attraction costs are Gaudí's works: the Sagrada Família (€26, or €36 with the towers), Casa Batlló (from €29 online) and Park Güell (€18). Tickets are sold online for a set time.

How we estimate

These amounts are estimates built from publicly available prices: average accommodation prices for the month and typical daily spending on food, public transport and attractions. For months where we found no data, we filled in our own estimate. Actual prices depend on your dates and where you stay.

For children up to 12 we assume 60% of an adult's food cost and 50% of an adult's attractions cost. At budget and standard level we price families with children an apartment or family room for up to four people; at luxury level one room takes two adults and one child. These are our assumptions. The luxury level has no upper limit, so we show a “from” amount.
