What a stay in Bordeaux costs
Bordeaux is one of the cheaper big cities in France. According to KAYAK, a room in a four-star hotel averages about €125 a night. January is the cheapest month and April the most expensive.
Trams are the easiest way around. A ticket costs €1.90, a 24-hour pass €6.50 and a 7-day pass €17.50.
The biggest attraction costs are the Cité du Vin (€23 with a glass of wine) and the Bassins des Lumières (€16). A 48-hour Bordeaux CityPass costs €48 and covers both, plus museums and public transport. The city museums are free on the first Sunday of the month, except in July and August.
How we estimate
These amounts are estimates built from publicly available prices: average accommodation prices for the month and typical daily spending on food, public transport and attractions. For months where we found no data, we filled in our own estimate. Actual prices depend on your dates and where you stay.
For children up to 12 we assume 60% of an adult's food cost and 50% of an adult's attractions cost. At budget and standard level we price families with children an apartment or family room for up to four people; at luxury level one room takes two adults and one child. These are our assumptions. The luxury level has no upper limit, so we show a “from” amount.
