What a stay in Florence costs
In Florence, accommodation is the biggest cost. According to KAYAK, a room averages about €185 a night in a four-star hotel. February is the cheapest month; June and September are the most expensive.
The center is walkable. A bus or tram ticket costs €2, and tram T2 runs from the airport to the center on a regular ticket. A taxi from the airport has a flat fare of €28 (€32 at night).
The biggest costs are the Uffizi (€25 on the day, €16 after 4 p.m.), the Galleria dell'Accademia with the David (€20) and the Brunelleschi Pass for the dome, bell tower and baptistery (€30). The cathedral itself is free.
How we estimate
These amounts are estimates built from publicly available prices: average accommodation prices for the month and typical daily spending on food, public transport and attractions. For months where we found no data, we filled in our own estimate. Actual prices depend on your dates and where you stay.
For children up to 12 we assume 60% of an adult's food cost and 50% of an adult's attractions cost. At budget and standard level we price families with children an apartment or family room for up to four people; at luxury level one room takes two adults and one child. These are our assumptions. The luxury level has no upper limit, so we show a “from” amount.
