What a stay in Marseille costs

In Marseille, accommodation prices depend heavily on the dates. According to KAYAK, hotels are cheapest in January and most expensive in September. The accommodation prices in the calculator are our estimate.

The cheapest way from Marseille Provence airport is bus 91 to Saint-Charles station: €10 one way, €16 round trip. A taxi costs roughly €70–80 by day and €90–100 at night. The city has a metro, trams and buses: a ride costs €1.70, a 24-hour pass €6.70 and a 72-hour pass €14.

The Old Port, the Panier district and the basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde are free. The boat to the island of If costs €11.10 round trip, entry to the château €7 and a Mucem ticket €11. The CityPass Marseille combines transport, museums and the boat: €36 for 24 hours, €55 for 72 hours.

How we estimate

These amounts are estimates built from publicly available prices: average accommodation prices for the month and typical daily spending on food, public transport and attractions. For months where we found no data, we filled in our own estimate. Actual prices depend on your dates and where you stay.

For children up to 12 we assume 60% of an adult's food cost and 50% of an adult's attractions cost. At budget and standard level we price families with children an apartment or family room for up to four people; at luxury level one room takes two adults and one child. These are our assumptions. The luxury level has no upper limit, so we show a “from” amount.
