What a trip to Nice costs
The cost of a stay in Nice depends heavily on when you go. Accommodation is most expensive in July and August. In May, June, September and October prices are lower and the weather is still good for the beach. From November to March hotels cost noticeably less than in summer.
Accommodation and food make the biggest difference. Public transport is cheap: a tram or bus ticket costs €1.70 and a 7-day pass €20. Many sights are free: the public beaches, the Promenade des Anglais, Castle Hill and the Old Town.
Nice is also a good base for the French Riviera. The Pass Sud Azur Explore gives unlimited travel on trains, trams and buses from Cannes to Menton, Monaco included: €35 for 3 days or €50 for 7 days.
How we estimate
These amounts are estimates built from publicly available prices: average accommodation prices for the month and typical daily spending on food, public transport and attractions. For months where we found no data, we filled in our own estimate. Actual prices depend on your dates and where you stay.
For children up to 12 we assume 60% of an adult's food cost and 50% of an adult's attractions cost. At budget and standard level we price families with children an apartment or family room for up to four people; at luxury level one room takes two adults and one child. These are our assumptions. The luxury level has no upper limit, so we show a “from” amount.
