What a stay in Paris costs
In Paris, accommodation is the biggest cost. According to KAYAK, a room averages about €265 a night in a four-star hotel and about €770 in a five-star. July is the cheapest month and October the most expensive.
The metro is the easiest way around. A ticket costs €2.55 and a weekly all-zone Navigo pass €32.40. There is plenty to see for free: the permanent collections of the city museums, such as the Petit Palais, are free all year, and the Musée d'Orsay and the Orangerie on the first Sunday of the month.
The biggest attraction costs are the Louvre (€22 for residents of the European Economic Area, €32 for other visitors), the elevator to the Eiffel Tower summit (€36.70) and Versailles. With several museums on your list, the Paris Museum Pass is worth it.
How we estimate
These amounts are estimates built from publicly available prices: average accommodation prices for the month and typical daily spending on food, public transport and attractions. For months where we found no data, we filled in our own estimate. Actual prices depend on your dates and where you stay.
For children up to 12 we assume 60% of an adult's food cost and 50% of an adult's attractions cost. At budget and standard level we price families with children an apartment or family room for up to four people; at luxury level one room takes two adults and one child. These are our assumptions. The luxury level has no upper limit, so we show a “from” amount.
