Budget level

What a stay in Prague costs

In Prague, accommodation is the biggest cost. According to KAYAK, a room averages about CZK 3,030 a night in a four-star hotel and about CZK 7,900 in a five-star. January and February are the cheapest months; December, with its Christmas markets, and May are the most expensive.

A 90-minute ticket costs CZK 46 in the PID Lítačka app and a 24-hour ticket CZK 140. From the airport, bus 59 or 100 takes you to the metro on a regular ticket, or the Airport Express goes to the Main Railway Station for CZK 200; the airport puts a taxi at about CZK 800.

Charles Bridge, Old Town Square and Malá Strana are free to explore. A Prague Castle ticket costs CZK 450 and the Old Town Hall with its tower CZK 350.

How we estimate

These amounts are estimates built from publicly available prices: average accommodation prices for the month and typical daily spending on food, public transport and attractions. For months where we found no data, we filled in our own estimate. Actual prices depend on your dates and where you stay.

For children up to 12 we assume 60% of an adult's food cost and 50% of an adult's attractions cost. At budget and standard level we price families with children an apartment or family room for up to four people; at luxury level one room takes two adults and one child. These are our assumptions. The luxury level has no upper limit, so we show a “from” amount.
